Product description
With its generously rounded form and two side handles, this antique pot belongs to the grand French tradition of glazed earthenware intended for kitchen use. Before metal and then industrial materials became widespread in homes, these terracotta vessels were used daily for food preparation and preservation. This particular piece is especially captivating due to its glaze with warm tones. The golden honey that adorns the body gradually intensifies to a deep brown beneath the rim, creating a rich and luminous contrast. The interior is also fully glazed in a beautiful amber tone. The craftsmanship remains traditional. The rounded body rests on a slightly tapered base, while the two handles, directly attached to the body, give it that immediately recognizable silhouette of antique culinary pottery. The underside bears the number 999 impressed into the clay. Its characteristics point to French regional glazed earthenware productions from the first half of the 20th century, around , although a precise manufacturer cannot be identified. With a height of approximately 12 cm and an opening diameter of about 15 to 16 cm, this pot offers a generous volume while maintaining particularly harmonious proportions.
