Product description
Refined and very precious set of 3 decorative display mini plates in fine porcelain, produced in Limoges by the Singer manufacture during the 1960s / 1970s. This exquisitely delicate set consists of a central piece and two matching miniatures, all covered with the famous and deep Limoges "bleu de four" enamel. The scalloped rim of each plate is enhanced by sumptuous decorations of foliage, garlands, and heraldic friezes painted with 24-carat fine gold. The basins display magnificent gallant and mythological scenes in medallions, based on the works of famous 18th-century painters: • The large plate (8.5 cm) illustrates a classic allegorical scene of Diana bathing, surrounded by her nymphs and cherubs. • The two small plates (5 cm) depict the famous "Watteau court scene" motif, featuring a couple of courtiers strolling in a wooded park. The reverse of each piece features its official original stamp with perfect clarity: the green factory mark "SINGER LIMOGES FRANCE" as well as the handwritten inscription in gold "Cavallore". Each medallion is equipped with its period gilded brass hanging system. Features: • Manufacturer: Singer Limoges (France) • Model / Decoration: Cavallore (Fine Gold) • Themes: Diana bathing & Watteau Scenes • Period: Circa 1965-1975 • Dimensions: Large: Ø 8.5 cm (H 2 cm) | Small: Ø 5 cm (H 1 cm) • Condition: Perfect state of preservation (Mint). The porcelain is intact, the fine gold gilding and the bleu de four have retained all their original luster.
