Eleonora Aime — round bistro table in solid travertine
A round table with a diameter of 70 cm and a height of 75 cm, made entirely of travertine: both the tabletop and the conical base.
Travertine is limestone formed near hot springs, where calcium from the water precipitates. Twigs and leaves that end up in the stone later decay, leaving behind the characteristic pores. That is exactly what you see on this tabletop: a wavy, layered pattern in warm beige tones with open pits, unique to every piece. No two tabletops are the same.
The base is a closed cone made of the same stone, making the table solid and serene rather than having legs on the floor. Because there is nothing obstructing the view from under the tabletop, you can pull up a chair from all sides.
At a seating height of 75 cm, this is a real table, not a side table. Suitable as a bistro table for two, as a table in a bay window or corner, as a round table in an entrance or shop, or as a high plant table. In a small space, the round shape works better than a square one: no corners to slide around.
