Product description
Sculptural pedestal dining table crafted from solid travertine and brass, attributed to Italian designer Marzio Cecchi for Studio Most. The table features a striking architectural base composed of thirteen alternating travertine rings and brass spacers, forming a rhythmic column that supports a generous round travertine top. The warm tones of the stone contrast beautifully with the soft patina of the brass, creating a refined yet bold presence typical of late 1970s Italian design.
The proportions of the piece — with its 130 cm diameter top and elegantly stacked base — give the table a strong sculptural quality while remaining perfectly functional as a dining table for four to six people. Pieces of this type are characteristic of the roman design scene of the late 1970s, where natural stone and metal were combined to create architectural furniture forms.
The table remains in very good vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina consistent with age and use. The base shows two small hairline cracks in the travertine, which are stable and purely cosmetic, not affecting the structure of the piece.
