This is a pair of Wall lights by the Venetian manufacturer Barovier & Toso from the mid-20th century. The lights are characterized by their sculptural design in the shape of a palm leaf and the luxurious Murano glass craftsmanship.
Each light is made of hand-blown Murano glass and measures approximately 38 cm in height and 18 cm in width. Particles of 24-karat gold leaf are melted into the glass, a technique known as "Foglia d'oro", creating a shimmering effect. The wall mounts are made of brass and complement the golden inclusions in the glass.
The condition of this pair is excellent for its age. The glass is undamaged, without cracks or chips, and the brass shows an age-appropriate patina. The electrical wiring is functional and, when lit, creates a warm, diffuse lighting atmosphere, refracted by the ribbed structure of the glass and the gold particles.
As a representative pair, these lights are ideal for enhancing an entrance area, a living room, or a bedroom. They seamlessly integrate into interiors in the style of Italian Design, Mid-Century Modern, or Hollywood Regency, adding a refined accent.
