Beautiful traditional mid-century rug from Sweden. The rug was designed by Sverker Greuholm. Greuholm was a famous Swedish textile artist, particularly active in the 1950s and 1960s. This rug is signed 'GS'. The rug is a traditional röllakan. The technique is centuries old and typically Swedish. Typical for these rugs is that they are identical on both sides, so the rug can be turned over. This is one of the reasons why röllakans are known for their durability. This rug features beautiful geometric patterns with various diamonds. Various colors have been used: ocher yellow, dark blue, light blue, brown. Despite its age, the rug is in good condition. On one side, the rug has been used more and shows some stains, the other side is still in very good condition. Dimensions: Width: 140 cm. Length: 200 cm.
