The artist Ton Pape (1916-2003) from The Hague knew better than anyone how to style the atmosphere in a living room of the sixties and seventies. Trained as a visual artist at the Hague Academy of Art, he developed a beautiful oeuvre of paintings and drawings, but in addition to his autonomous work, he also made a name for himself as a designer of fabrics, carpets and wallpaper. Many prints from that time can be recognized as genuine designs by Ton Pape. His gouaches of the designs ( poster paint on paper) are hand painted. It is an original gouache. Unique work! And a 'must have' in a retro interior!
