The Toms Drag Kangaroo Skippy is a recognizable art object from the Toms Company animal collection, designed by the German artist Tom Hoffmann. The hand-painted object depicts a kangaroo, complete with a young one (mama baby) in the pouch, sunglasses on its head, and two red shoes on its hind legs. The design utilizes a bright pop-art color scheme and contrasting patterns to create a striking accent in the interior.
The base of the Toms Drag Kangaroo Skippy is made of marmorite (a sturdy composite of crushed marble and resin). The sculpture is entirely hand-painted and features the designer's signature motifs. For instance, the legs, ears, and tail feature a black and white checkerboard pattern, interspersed with various striped, dotted, and floral patterns on the body. The object is finished with great detail and inlaid with small rhinestones around the eyes and on the clothing.
