About the designer: Michel Ducaroy comes from a family of industrialists who created contemporary furniture. He trained at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. Joining the rapidly growing Ligne Roset company early on, he worked closely with a discerning marketing team and a high-performing technical team. He was responsible for the research and proposals essential to the brand's ever-increasing presence. He designed a line of youthful furniture (DN' bedroom) as well as numerous models of chairs, sofas, and furniture for communal spaces (459' lounge chair). With the emergence of new materials in the 1960s and 70s—foams, wadding, thermoformed plastics—he created many widely produced chairs: Adria, Koufra, Kashima, Safi, Kali', and the Togo model, a cushion-chair still featured in the Ligne Roset catalog.
