This set of three decorative figures was designed by Tjerk Reijenga for Pilastro in the 1950s or 1960s. The set consists of three stylized metal figures, each with its own characteristic pose and accessory, placed in front of a perforated metal background.
The figures are crafted from metal, where the black wire structure contrasts with the white perforated background. One figure is reading a book, a rare variant wears a hat and a scarf, and the third plays a trumpet. The combination of materials and the minimalist design are typical of Dutch Design from the mid-twentieth century.
The set is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The original finish and character of the figures have been well preserved, contributing to the authentic appearance of these collector's items.
These Pilastro figures look excellent in a Mid-Century Modern or vintage-inspired interior. They form a playful accent on a bookshelf, sideboard, or desk and combine well with other design classics from the same period.
