This refined bookcase cabinet was designed by Tito Agnoli for Caleido, a company belonging to the prestigious Gruppo Frau, in the 1970s.
It is a rare piece of furniture, highly representative of the designer’s research, capable of blending formal rigor, material elegance, and a clear inclination toward experimentation.
The solid wood structure, with clean lines and balanced proportions, features two distinct sections: the upper part, closed by smoked glass sliding doors, and the lower part, characterized by two doors clad in a patchwork of exquisite black peccary leather. This leather, used exclusively in the most high-end creations, is hand-stitched with great precision, creating an irregular geometric pattern that gives the cabinet a unique and sophisticated character.

Born in Lima, Peru, to an Italian family, he moved to Italy to study painting before graduating in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in the early 1950s. During his formative years, he collaborated with masters of design such as Gio Ponti and Carlo De Carli, experiences that profoundly influenced his style.
Agnoli distinguished himself for his ability to combine elegance and practicality, designing furniture with sober and clean lines, with particular attention to functionality and industrial production. He worked for some of the most prestigious companies in the sector, including Molteni, Poltrona Frau, Arflex, and Oluce, creating furniture and lighting that are still appreciated today for their essentiality and refinement.
