About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a table lamp designed by the Swedish designers Uno & Östen Kristiansson for the manufacturer Luxus Vittsjö. The piece is a characteristic example of mid-century Scandinavian design, known for its combination of organic materials and functional form. The lamp is characterized by its clear silhouette and high-quality materials, which give it a timeless elegance.
The base of the lamp is made of solid teak wood and has a simple cylindrical shape that highlights the natural grain and warm color of the wood. On top sits a two-part shade: an inner diffuser made of white acrylic glass, which provides a soft, glare-free light, and an outer cylindrical shade made of black leather. This construction allows for pleasant, atmospheric lighting that is directed both upwards and downwards.
The overall condition of this vintage lamp is very good. The teak wood shows a rich patina developed over the years and is very well preserved. Both the acrylic glass shade and the outer shade are intact and show no significant signs of wear. The original wiring with the characteristic switch is present and functional, which underlines the authenticity of the piece.
With its elegant and understated design, this table lamp is ideal as accent lighting on a sideboard, a desk, or a bedside table. It blends seamlessly into mid-century modern or Scandinavian style interiors and adds a warm and cultivated atmosphere to any room.
