An elegant pedestal vase from the Thulin pottery works (Belgium), model no. 1532 in the manufacturer's catalog. Crafted in a superb, deep cobalt blue glaze, it perfectly illustrates the evolution of Thulin's style at the end of the Art Deco period. With its clean lines, architectural silhouette, and the abandonment of any figurative decoration in favor of the sheer intensity of the glaze, this model most likely belongs to the immediate post-war production, around the second half of the 1940s, when the factory adopted a more restrained aesthetic that already foreshadowed the design of the 1950s. The vase features a generous, lenticular body resting on an elegant flared pedestal, creating a remarkable visual balance. Its deep cobalt blue glaze offers a glossy surface that beautifully captures the light and highlights the purity of its lines. Although the reference number 1532 is no longer visible under the base, this shape is documented in the Thulin Pottery catalog. The absence of added decoration reinforces the resolutely modern character of this piece, where only the quality of the proportions and the glaze constitutes the ornamentation. The piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to report. The glaze has a remarkable luster, with only very discreet signs of wear under the base, consistent with its age and without affecting its appearance.
