Set of three Chinese seal stones A cohesive group of three tall Chinese stone seals, each topped with a hand-carved protective animal. The rectangular seal bodies show old signs of use, natural color variations, and incised Chinese inscriptions. The stone is visually consistent with soapstone / Shoushan-type seal stone. The readings include a name seal with 馬 (Ma, 'horse', also a surname), 崇德 ('honouring virtue'), and 月雨 ('moon and rain'). The combination of personal, studio-like, and poetic formulations fits within the Chinese tradition of scholar's seals. Carving and age The animal finials are individually carved and differ from each other in posture and modeling. Across the surfaces are scratches, rounded edges, discoloration, and old residue in the incised lines. The group is offered as a single set. Condition Antique condition with clear signs of use and age, localized minor damage, and wear to the carving and edges. The seal faces and side inscriptions are preserved; see the detailed photos.
