About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an authentic side table from the renowned Viennese manufacturer Thonet, crafted from its characteristic bentwood. The design is an elegant example of furniture art from the Art Nouveau period, where functionality and organic forms converge. 1 arch is broken off and the chairs are not included.
The table is made entirely of wood, with a solid wood top and a base that demonstrates Thonet's iconic 'bentwood' technique. The construction is finished in a warm, brown tone that accentuates the wood grain. A decorative, openwork fan motif under the top adds a refined detail, typical of the aesthetic around the turn of the century. The original 'Thonet Wien' stamp is present under the top, confirming its Austrian origin.
The overall condition of the table is good and consistent with its age. The piece has a lived-in character and an authentic patina resulting from years of use, which contributes to its historical charm. The construction is solid, and the original finish has largely been preserved.
With its compact form and timeless appearance, this side table is a versatile addition to various interior styles, from classic to eclectic. The piece can serve as a functional table next to an armchair, as a plant table in a conservatory, or as a decorative accent in a hallway or bedroom.
