Product description
Price for all 4 Thonet chairs
Production date 1988
Hello everyone,
I'm parting with these classics due to space constraints.
This iconic set of four Thonet chairs, designed by Gerd Lange for Thonet in the 1980s, is an ode to functional design with a playful touch. The combination of smooth, black plastic for the seat and backrest and the warm, light wood frame creates a striking contrast that fits perfectly into a modern or eclectic interior.
The ergonomically shaped shell offers surprising comfort, while the curved backrest provides subtle support—ideal for long dinners or creative brainstorming sessions. Gerd Lange, known for his innovative approach to industrial design, achieved a balance between simplicity, durability, and character with this model.
The chairs are lightweight, stackable, and exceptionally versatile: from the dining room to the conference room, they add style and class to any space. The typical flair of the 1980s is subtly present in the clean lines and materials, without losing its timeless appeal.
The design combines stability with elegant lightness. The solid wood frame ensures sturdiness, while the plastic shell is easy to clean and durable – a combination that makes these chairs both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
One chair shows a minor sign of wear, which is barely noticeable and does not detract from the overall appearance of the set. The set is in very good vintage condition and is ideal for lovers of classic 1980s design.
Viewing in Mainz is possible.
