Private sellerProduct description
A classic chair manufactured in the iconic style of Thonet's Model No. 18. This piece is made of bentwood, a technique perfected and made world-famous by Thonet. The design is known as the 'bistro chair' and is a timeless symbol of European design, valued for its elegant and light silhouette. The chair features a black lacquered beech wood frame and a woven rattan seat, creating a characteristic contrast in material and color. Production can be traced back to the Polish manufacturer ZPM Radomsko, known for producing furniture according to original Thonet designs. The combination of the black frame and the natural-colored seat is a classic execution of this model. This piece of furniture is offered as a restoration project. The wooden frame is structurally intact, but the rattan seat is damaged and needs to be replaced. This offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiast to restore a design classic and personalize it to their own taste. After restoration, the No. 18 chair is a versatile addition to various interior styles. The chair functions excellently as a dining chair, as an elegant piece in a home office, or as a decorative accent in a living room or bedroom.
