Product description
This lovely armchair has been completely disassembled, sanded and freshly oiled with linseed oil. The braid tape of the back is in original condition but the seat had to be re-woven with pit reed (braid tape 2.4mm). For me, therefore, the challenge lay in this handiwork. The new reed will still slowly color under the influence of sunlight. I chose not to treat the wicker and allow a natural color gradient.
The chair is in used condition. Solid and rigid, but the joints in its backrest have opened up a bit during its life. Also, the original screws are slightly corroded.
The backrest joints are slightly open and show a glue seam. The connecting screws at the bottom of the chair (copper-plated steel) are corroded. and if you look carefully you will find two strings of pit reeds in the backrest that have snapped.
