Product description
This sculptural work is a contemporary reinterpretation of The Kiss by Constantin Brâncuși. Rather than replicating the original, the piece engages in a dialogue with it, translating its essential geometry into a new material and visual context.
The textured surface embraces subtle irregularities and traces of the making process, giving the form a sense of transformation and imperfection.
The sculpture rests on a pedestal made from reclaimed exotic wood, salvaged from an old Amsterdam building. The contrast between the sculptural form and the recovered wood creates a dialogue between past and present, permanence and transformation.
The Kiss (II) After Brâncuși becomes a meeting point between tradition and contemporary expression, where a familiar form is reimagined through material, texture, and color.
