Product description
This sculptural work is a contemporary reinterpretation of The Kiss by Constantin Brâncuși, exploring the space between recognition and transformation. Rather than reproducing the original, the work reduces its essence to a new, tactile form—where familiar geometry meets traces of process and imperfection.
The warm, monochromatic surface gives the sculpture a quiet, almost archaeological presence, while its irregular textures reveal the hand of making and the passage from an imagined form to a physical object.
The sculpture rests on a pedestal made from reclaimed exotic wood, salvaged from an old Amsterdam building. The contrast between the digitally conceived form and the recovered material of the base creates a dialogue between past and present, permanence and renewal.
The Kiss (I) After Brâncuși is a reflection on how an iconic form can be remembered, transformed, and given a new life.
