Product description
Rare high-end and vintage bar mechanism.
Patented in England in 1903 by Cornelius Chambers
under the iconic model "The Don", this professional
countertop corkscrew made of solid brass and wrought iron
is a true piece of art engineering. It is
presented here fixed on its original wooden base,
featuring the brass plaque of the historical Belgian
distributor of the time: the house "J. & V. Ruben, 77
rue Heywaert, Brussels".
The cylindrical body in solid brass proudly bears
the official engraved markings: the model name
"The Don", the open hand logo,
the inscription "Chambers's Patent" as well as the official
patent number "18006/03". Its ergonomic handle
in turned wood operates a smooth lever mechanism
allowing corks to be extracted without the slightest
effort.
A rare, authentic and perfectly functional collector's item,
ideal for bringing a prestigious and historical touch
to a high-end bar, a wine cellar or a connoisseur's kitchen.
