Product description
This is the complete reprint of John Willie's influential magazine "Bizarre", published by Taschen. This collection compiles all 26 issues, originally published between 1948 and 1959, forming a definitive compilation of this groundbreaking work in fetish art.
The set consists of two hardcover books, housed in a single slipcase. It contains the complete run of the magazine, including articles, photographs, readers' letters, and Willie's iconic comic strip "Sir D'Arcy". The illustrations are rendered in a distinctive palette of black, white, and red, capturing the aesthetic of the mid-20th century. This reprint, published by the renowned art book publisher Taschen, makes a historically significant and often inaccessible publication available to a modern audience.
The two volumes are in good overall condition, preserved in their original slipcase. Its condition is visible in the photos. The books themselves are impeccable. The collection is complete and offers an unabridged look into the world created by John Willie.
This set is an important acquisition for any collection of art books, graphic design history, or counter-culture publications. It is a striking piece for a library or study, significant both visually and historically.
