The Fredericia's Canvas chair - model 2031 from 1970 is one of the last designs by the legendary Danish designer Børge Mogensen. He created the sleek, minimalist chair as a protest against the colorful plastic furniture that was popular at the time, to restore harmony and a natural look to people's homes using simple forms and high-quality materials.
The Canvas chair is easily recognizable as Mogensen's work due to the strong vertical and horizontal lines of the design. The lines also enhance the contrast created by the flat canvas/saddle leather between pieces of round wood and the frame consisting of rectangular pieces of oak. Despite its angular silhouette, the Canvas/saddle leather chair is characterized by a serene appearance that easily adapts to a variety of interiors.
