Product description
Tema pine wall lamp by Ib Fabiansen for Fog & Mørup, Denmark, 1960s
This elegant wall lamp was designed by the renowned Danish designer Ib Fabiansen and produced by Fog & Mørup in Denmark during the 1960s. The design beautifully reflects the warm, natural and functional character of Danish mid-century lighting.
The cylindrical shade is composed of slender vertical pine slats arranged around a light-diffusing inner textile shade. Subtle variations in the position and width of the wooden elements give the lamp a rhythmic, architectural appearance. When illuminated, the light filters softly through the spaces between the slats, emphasising the natural grain and warm golden tone of the pine.
This is a very rare model by one of the iconic figures of Danish lighting design. The original Fog & Mørup manufacturer’s label is still present. With its restrained proportions and sculptural construction, the lamp has a distinctive presence without overwhelming an interior. A highly collectible example of Danish modernist lighting, suitable as a wall lamp but equally stunning on a desk.
