Set of four D44 armchairs, designed by Axel Bruchhäuser for Tecta in the 1980s. The black wickerwork forms an airy shell that wraps around the seat, supported by a slender chrome-plated tubular steel frame. The cantilevered construction gives the chairs a slight springiness and contrasts beautifully with the dense, artisanal wickerwork. An elegant set combining Bauhaus influences with the softer, more decorative design language of the 1980s. In very good vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with age. Price for the set of four.
