This ceramic cachepot immediately captivates with the deep, glossy, and uniform quality of its teal glaze, which plays with the light from different angles and highlights the contours of the pot's body. The shape is generous and well-balanced. The baluster-shaped body, tapering downwards, rests on a stable ring foot. The body is adorned with wide vertical ribs that structure the silhouette and accentuate the depth of the color. A frieze of overlapping half-circle scales crowns the body, followed by a collar with small raised dots and a frieze of raised Greek key motifs beneath the flared rim. This neoclassical decorative vocabulary, understated and well-executed, is characteristic of European ceramic productions from the 1950s-1970s, when manufacturers revisited classic forms with more modern colored glazes. The interior is coated with an undecorated ivory cream glaze. The unglazed exterior base bears no markings. Interior diameter 17 cm, height approximately 14 cm. The deep teal of this piece naturally complements contemporary interiors that feature tones of petrol blue, sage green, or terracotta. A succulent plant, a fern, or some dried branches will find a distinctive setting here.
