About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This 2 seaters, designed by Danish designers Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Daverkosen, is a representative example of mid-century Scandinavian design. The piece embodies the characteristic design language of the 1950s, combining functionality with organic lines and high-quality craftsmanship. Its elegant silhouette and warm materials make it a timeless classic. The sofa features a solid teak frame, known for its durability and rich grain. The construction is characterized by an open spindle backrest and gently curved armrests that seamlessly transition into the tapered legs. The loose seat and back cushions are upholstered in a mustard yellow, textured wool fabric, which creates a vibrant contrast to the darker wood tone. This piece, manufactured in Denmark, bears the manufacturer's seal from France & Daverkosen. The overall condition of the sofa is very good, reflecting the careful maintenance it has received over the years. The teak frame shows an even patina, which emphasizes the character and authenticity of the vintage furniture. The upholstery is firm and clean, offering a comfortable seat. With its compact form, this sofa is ideal for smaller living spaces, reading nooks, or as a stylish addition to an existing seating group. It blends effortlessly into modern, minimalist, or mid-century inspired interiors, adding a touch of Danish design history to any room. Recently re-upholstered with latex foam. Very good condition.
