Product description
This Danish teak chest of drawers by G.J. Møbler dates to approximately the 1960s. Its tall, compact case provides six drawers without taking up much floor space. A flat top and straight sides give it a clear rectangular outline, while short tapered legs raise the cabinet above the floor.
The six full-width drawers are stacked within narrow case edges, with slim horizontal gaps between their fronts. Each drawer has a long wooden pull that projects near either side and curves inward towards a lower central section. Repeated down the cabinet, these shaped pulls have a spear-like profile and form a continuous pattern across the front. The upper drawer has a central keyhole, with a key shown in place in the photographs. A G.J. Møbler maker’s stamp is visible on the back.
The drawer fronts have varied vertical teak grain, contrasting with the quieter lengthwise grain of the top. The slightly darker pulls stand proud of the fronts, so their curved profiles remain visible from an angle and provide a place to grasp each drawer. The legs leave a modest open space beneath the case. Light wear to the surfaces and edges is visible; the six separate drawers offer practical storage for clothing, linens or smaller household items.
