About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This teak chair, Model 16, is a design by Johannes Andersen for the Danish furniture manufacturer Uldum Møbelfabrik from the mid-twentieth century. It is an iconic design characterized by organic lines and distinctive, sculptural armrests that seamlessly transition into the backrest.
The chair is crafted from solid teak, a material typical of Scandinavian design from this period. The seat is upholstered in an ochre-yellow fabric that forms a warm contrast with the rich brown tones of the wood. The construction showcases Uldum's craftsmanship, with flowing joints and tapered legs that give the piece a light, elegant appearance.
The furniture is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. Over the years, the teak has developed a warm patina that contributes to the chair's authentic character.
This design by Johannes Andersen comes into its own perfectly in a modern or Scandinavian-inspired interior. The chair can serve as a striking accent piece in a living room, or as a comfortable addition to a reading nook or study.
