Very elegant sideboard designed by great Danish designer Arne Vodder. Produced in the 1950s by Sibast, Denmark. This piece is of very high quality and due to its clean minimalist design very timeless. The sideboard is made of Teak and has two sliding doors with a total of three shelves behind the doors. The sliding doors have a beautiful finish on two sides. One side of the door is teak and the other side of the door is black. So you can choose whether you want an all teak cabinet or with black details. In addition, the sideboard includes 7 drawers with the iconic shaped handles that blend seamlessly into the design. Finally, the sideboard includes another compartment with a flap behind which a shelf is hidden. Again, the top features black formica. Not only pleasing to the eye, but also practical in use due to plenty of storage space.
The back is also beautifully finished with teak, so the sideboard can also be placed well in the middle of the room. The legs of the sideboard are slim and tapered, making it seem to float above the ground and giving a sense of lightness. The sideboard is 250 cm wide, 47 cm deep and 80 cm high. The sideboard is marked on the inside with a manufacturer's brand plate.
Arne Vodder is known for his contributions to modern Danish design, especially during the heyday of Danish furniture design in the 1950s and 1960s. He worked closely with leading Danish furniture manufacturers such as Fritz Hansen, Sibast and Niels Vodder (his father), designing a number of iconic pieces that are still appreciated today for their timeless aesthetic and craftsmanship.
