Product description
Exceptional and highly collectible lounge chair designed by Miroslav Navrátil in the 1930s. An iconic example of early Czech modernist furniture design, distinguished by its elegant cantilevered bentwood construction and beautifully balanced proportions.
The sculptural curved wooden arms and sled-style base demonstrate the sophisticated craftsmanship and progressive design language associated with Central European modernism of the period.
This piece remains in 100% original condition. The bentwood structure and wooden surfaces are preserved in excellent original condition with a natural patina. The original upholstery is still present and usable, preserving the authenticity of the chair, though it would benefit from replacement or restoration according to the buyer’s preference.
A rare survivor and an outstanding collector’s piece suitable for both refined contemporary interiors and important historical design collections.
