In 1972 architect Mario Bellini designed the Le Mura sectional sofa for Cassina. After 50 years, in 2022, the Italian manufacturer Tacchini launched this re-edition, celebrating one of the most influential designers and architects of the era. It was Mario Bellini, who had huge impact on modern seating concepts. Also the Le Mura is less known - compared to his prominent design furniture, the Camaleonda or the Le Bambole - it derived from the same artistic approach of a reinvention of the everyday sphere. New habits and behaviors and ways of relating to each other were observed by Bellini and transformed into furniture. This Le Mura set consists of two symmetrical seats with an arm rest on right/left. This sofa consist of two large corner pieces of 128 cm in length. The symmetrical set allows different combinations, connectiong the single parts with belts. It usually will be set up to a regular sofa with 256 cm in no length. Instead it´s also possible to set it up to a 190 cm sofa with an exceeding depth of then 128 cm. The upholstery fabric is a chenille (comparable maybe to a crushed velvet) with stunning optical effect and inviting and warm touch. The pile looks very different depending on the direction it's brushed. There´s no stains in the sofa, no defects. The sofa is in used but good to very good vintage condition, with only a few signs of prior use. The Le Mura sectional sofa offers great comfort and thanks to its design certainly enriches private as well as business interiors.
