Product description
This work is an original pastel still life, signed by the artist P.Verilhac. The piece, titled « Alcove with Jug », captures a serene and timeless scene that evokes the tranquility of Provence.
Executed on textured paper, this composition uses a palette of earthy colors to depict a jug and a small bowl nestled in a wall alcove. The artist employs dry pastel strokes to create textures and plays of light and shadow, imbuing the scene with palpable depth and warmth. Tones of beige, brown, and terracotta are enhanced by dark outlines that subtly define the forms.
The work is in excellent overall condition, preserving the integrity of the pigments and the texture of the paper support. The artist's signature, F. Venlhac, is clearly visible in the lower right corner, authenticating this unique piece. Its rustic character and refined composition make it a charming example of figurative art.
This painting would fit perfectly into a classic, rustic, or Mediterranean-style interior. Hung in a kitchen, dining room, or living room, it would bring a touch of discreet elegance and Provençal authenticity.
