About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
An original 'Ruspa' table lamp, designed by Gae Aulenti for the Italian manufacturer Martinelli Luce. This iconic design from the Space Age period is known for its ingenious, adjustable arm and shade, which allow for versatile lighting.
The lamp is made of white lacquered metal. The design consists of a swivel arm resting on a stable base, and a reflector that can be tilted into various positions to direct the light directly or indirectly. Produced in Italy, this piece embodies the innovative design of the late 1960s.
The lamp is in good, vintage condition and retains its original finish and structure. The functionality of the adjustable parts is intact, so the lamp retains its characteristic flexibility. The piece bears a patina consistent with its age and history.
As a sculptural object in itself, the Ruspa lamp functions as a striking accent on a desk, sideboard, or side table. It fits seamlessly into both a Mid-Century Modern and a contemporary interior, where it adds a touch of Italian design history.
