GERMAN HALA TABLE LAMP | 1950s
This is an original German HALA production—not to be confused with its Dutch counterpart. Founded in 1920 in Hannover, HALA Hannoversche Lampenfabrik GmbH became known for its high-quality functional lighting. In the post-war reconstruction era, Dutch designer Hermanus Busquet imported these lamps to the Netherlands and marketed them under the same name: Hala Nederlandsche Lampenfabriek B.V.
This iconic mid-century table lamp features a cone-shaped aluminum base with a grey spray-coated finish and a chrome swivel arm. Both the arm and the shade are fully adjustable, combining functionality with a striking minimalist design. The original on/off switch, located on the base, remains in perfect working order.
In exceptional condition for a lamp over 70 years old, it shows only minor signs of use. A true piece of design history, it remains as relevant and beautiful today as it was in the 1950s.
