Private sellerProduct description
An authentic SZ 01 armchair, designed by Martin Visser for the Dutch manufacturer Spectrum. This piece of furniture is an example of functionalist design from the mid-twentieth century. The design, dating from 1960, is characterized by its clear lines and honest use of materials, making it a sought-after object among lovers of Dutch Design.
The construction consists of a sleek, round tubular frame of chrome-plated metal, which forms a solid yet airy base. The seat and backrest are made of skillfully woven rattan, which ensures a comfortable sitting experience and a natural, warm contrast with the cool metal. The armrests are also wrapped in rattan, a detail that emphasizes Visser's thoughtful design.
This armchair is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age and use. The frame is structurally solid, and the rattan has developed a characteristic patina that contributes to the authentic appearance of the furniture. The overall condition testifies to a carefully preserved past and retains the original aesthetic of the design.
Thanks to its timeless and minimalist design, the SZ 01 armchair is a versatile addition to various interior styles. The piece functions excellently as a solitary design chair in a living room, study, or bedroom and combines effortlessly with both modern and Mid-Century furniture.
