Product description
Vintage Space Age "UFO" pendant lamp in opaline and chrome (1970s) Magnificent chandelier with an iconic Space Age design. This flying saucer-like pendant lamp consists of a generous domed globe in shiny white opaline glass, topped with an elegant tapered cap in chrome-plated metal. The whole is supported by a characteristic spiral black cable from the era, connected to a cylindrical brushed metal ceiling rose. Inside, the light fixture is cleverly equipped with a three-socket system, ensuring a wide, homogeneous, and warm diffusion of light through the whiteness of the opaline. It is a piece of character, with clean and futuristic lines, ideal for hanging above a dining table or illuminating a living room. The set presents a beautiful general appearance, with shiny chrome, but bears some traces of its history: It is mounted on its original height-adjustable system (spiral cable), but the small central handle for pulling the chandelier down is missing (the internal screw thread is present). It can still be adjusted by manipulating it from the top or used as a fixed pendant. Also note a very slight chip on the opaline, really barely visible once the chandelier is suspended, but which testifies to its vintage authenticity. Features: Style: Vintage, Space Age (1970s). Materials: Opaline glass, chrome-plated metal, brushed metal. Specificity: 3-bulb lighting system. Condition: Good vintage condition (a discreet micro-chip on the glass and missing pull handle).
