This is a pendant lamp designed by the Danish design duo Flemming Brylle and Preben Jacobsen in 1965. This piece is an iconic example of mid-century Scandinavian lighting design, known as the "Strips" model. Its spherical silhouette and slatted construction create a distinctive interplay of light and form.
Manufactured by Quality System in Denmark, this lamp consists of acrylic slats and a plexiglass support that interlock to form a complex and airy structure. With a diameter of 50 cm, the design alternates opaque white inner elements with vertical outer panels of brown smoked plexiglass. This combination diffuses a soft, warm light while sculpting a visually striking object.
This luminaire is in very good condition, testifying to the quality of the materials and craftsmanship of the period.
