A unique and early artwork by the Dutch-German art & design duo Supertoys Supertoys.
MICKEY was created in 2018 and is a completely unique piece: Edition 1/1. The work was purchased directly from the artists at the time and comes with the original Certificate of Authenticity, signed by both artists, Job Mouwen and Merle Flügge.
This sculptural work combines recognizable pop-cultural forms with the graphic and playful design language for which Supertoys Supertoys is known. Due to its impressive size, it is a special statement piece for an interior, office, hospitality environment, gallery, or private collection.
Original finish still fully present
The original colorful version of MICKEY can be seen on the Certificate of Authenticity.
The original colors and laminates are still fully present under the current finish. In consultation with the artist, the work was later provided with a wrap in the current black-and-white version, so that it better matched the interior in which it was placed.
This wrap can be easily removed without damaging the original finish, making the original colors and laminates fully visible again.
The new owner thus has the choice between the current more subdued black-and-white version or the original colorful version as depicted on the certificate.
