About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Very beautiful pair of antique bookends carved from genuine onyx, representing majestic parrots (or cockatoos) with delicately carved plumage. The natural stone offers magnificent translucent veining with warm nuances, ranging from cream beige to caramel and deep brown, bringing a lot of character and authenticity to the object. The sculptural work is highlighted by a small red detail inlaid at the eye of each bird, adding a subtle touch of contrast.
These pieces are perfectly functional thanks to their right-angled perpendicular base, allowing you to elegantly prop and firmly hold your books on a shelf, sideboard, or desk. It is a refined decorative object, ideal for bringing an Art Deco or "cabinet of curiosities" touch to your interior. The set is in very good vintage condition.
