Product description
The Egon Eiermann SE 42 chair, designed in 1949/50, is an iconic masterpiece of German post-war design.
It combines clear functionality with a timeless aesthetic and reflects Eiermann's visionary approach to furniture design. Made of molded plywood, the chair is characterized by its elegant, curved form, which offers both visual lightness and stability. The seat and backrest are ergonomically designed to ensure exceptional comfort, while the curved plywood legs harmoniously complete the construction.
The seat and backrest are finished in a subtle matte blue that has developed a charming patina over time. The natural wood legs provide a warm contrast, making the chair a versatile piece of furniture. Visible signs of wear, such as minor scratches and marks, underscore the authenticity of this original piece and add to its character.
Condition: The chair is in used vintage condition, meaning it shows typical signs of wear that give it a unique charm. The seat and backrest have light scratches and wear, especially along the edges, as well as a subtle patina on the blue paintwork, indicating years of use. These marks, however, are part of the chair's authenticity and history and emphasize its vintage character.
The wooden legs are sturdy and well-preserved, but show scratches and dents that have developed over time. These signs of wear do not affect the chair's functionality in any way; rather, they contribute to its unique appearance. The chair's construction remains solid and reliable, so it continues to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
