Unique vintage 1960s Brutalist coffee table, model 'Primus', by (Dr.)Peter Draenert for Studio Draenert. The thick chrome-plated metal base supports a tabletop made of 167-million-year-old German (Schwäbisch) natural stone; oil shale. This exceptional top is rich in various fossils, including a striking large ammonite. Marked on the underside by the designer/manufacturer with an explanation of the tabletop. The table is in perfect condition, the chrome is perfect, and what is also unique is that there is not a single blemish on the top, not even on the edge. A true showpiece for any lover of design and natural history.
