STS Abel (Zagreb) / Hrastnik - Footed bowl with doves - Yugoslavia - 1930s design
An Art Deco centrepiece in pressed agate (onyx) glass: a flared bowl with a petal-like scalloped rim, two stylised doves as handles and a ribbed foot. The model is described in the collectors' trade as STS Abel, Zagreb (1930s), and the same form appears in the catalogue of the Hrastnik glassworks ("Onyx" series), which was part of STS Abel. The swirling black glass with amber, caramel and cream streaks makes every piece unique.
