In French country kitchens, the stoneware bowl reigned supreme. It was used for kneading bread dough, whisking eggs, and serving garden salads. This particular bowl has endured the decades with the quiet solidity of stoneware, a material of unfailing honesty. A stoneware bowl with straight, slightly flared sides and a stable flat base. The exterior is natural beige-sand stoneware, unglazed, matte, and granular to the touch. The interior is glazed in ivory cream, smooth and easy to clean. The exterior decoration, applied with a stamp underglaze, features a four-leaf clover and dark brown foliage motifs on a sand background. An understated design, rooted in the tradition of French regional pottery. Diameter approximately 22-23 cm, height approximately 9-10 cm. French artisanal or semi-industrial production, 1920s-1960s, regional origin to be confirmed. Good condition, with signs of use on the interior glaze; the stoneware is intact with no chips. Placed at the center of a rustic wooden table with a beautiful seasonal salad, it immediately reclaims its purpose. It also integrates perfectly into a decorative arrangement with other antique stoneware, on a kitchen dresser or a metal shelf.
