About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the Gravity armchair, an iconic design by Peter Opsvik for Varier, originally produced by Stokke. The chair is known for its unique ability to balance and offers four different sitting and reclining positions, from an active working position to an almost weightless, fully reclined resting position.
The frame is made of laminated wood with a natural finish, ensuring both flexibility and stability. The seat, backrest, armrests, and adjustable headrest are upholstered in supple brown leather. This Norwegian design is a prime example of ergonomics, designed to support the body and stimulate movement, even at rest.
The armchair is in good, used condition, consistent with its age and function as a comfortable piece of furniture. The materials have developed a characteristic patina, which contributes to the authentic appearance of the object. The structural integrity of the chair is fully intact.
As a sculptural and functional object, the Gravity fits perfectly into a living room, study, or reading nook. The design complements interiors with a Scandinavian, modern, or minimalist aesthetic and functions both as a striking lounge chair and a dynamic work chair.
