We are pleased to present this 18th-century Italian oil on canvas painting.
It is a charming still life with flowers. The painting depicts a rich composition of various colorful flowers (such as tulips, roses, and carnations) arranged in a basket in the foreground, with some fruit on the left side (a pumpkin or melon). A mysterious landscape is hinted at in the background. This type of composition is a classic example of "still life" genre painting, which often contains symbolism related to the concept of vanitas (the fleeting nature of life and beauty).
