Product description
Splendid and very dramatic classical style art Sculpture,
representing the mythological scene of the death of the Greek
hero Achilles, struck in the heel by Paris's arrow, made during
the 1970s / 1980s.
This decorative collector's piece is structured around a reconstituted
alabaster casting (or heavy mineral art resin).
The composition with strong dramatic tension depicts the warrior
lying in agony, his powerfully sculpted bare torso rearing up,
wearing his original large Athenian crested helmet. The beveled
hollowed-out reverse under the base confirms the high-school casting
techniques of this decade.
A beautiful decorative object with a strong geometric presence, ideal for
joining a cabinet of curiosities or a retro library.
Features:
• Theme: The Death of Achilles (Trojan War)
• Style: Greco-Roman Classical / Mythological
• Material: Satin reconstituted alabaster
• Period: Circa 1975-1985
• Dimensions: To be specified (Table format)
• Condition: Perfect state of preservation (Mint condition).
The mineral material has a beautiful original ivory hue
and reliefs of excellent sharpness.
