Looking for a real eye-catcher in your interior?
Do you want to divide or separate the space in your home? Or do you have a nice wall where an open cupboard comes into its own?
Then consider a room divider!
This particular cabinet comes directly from England and is from the brand Stonehill.
In the late 60s, early 70s, a series of sleek and modern-looking furniture comes out in England from this manufacturer, they are designed entirely according to the prevailing trends with details that we then also see in brands like G-Plan, just look at the beautiful wooden handles. We also see many influences of the then very popular Scandinavian design language.
"Stonehill" is a very modern equipped factory, which through a high degree of automation and with the characteristic English craftsmanship, can produce quality furniture in realtively large quantities, therefore the prices at the introduction can be called sharp.
They use first class materials when it comes to sheet metal and hardware for their furniture. They are not afraid to use new processes to achieve a very tight finish.
One of these new methods was the use of so-called "Lamination" to replace the usual "Veneering". By machining the wood prints into a kind of plastic base, a very tight end result is possible at low cost, the process is similar to the still immensely popular flooring type "Laminate" in combination with a layer of veneer which is very color and wear resistant and requires little maintenance.
Model ""Penley" is in nice used condition, still very neat to see and full of character, from the first owners in England and there until autumn 2023 still in regular use. Of course there are some traces of use visible, incurred in the past 60 years, but to our taste never really disturbing, the pictures give you a neat picture of the cabinet, we are talking about a neat vintage condition.
Against a clean wall this model will look perfect, a beauty!
The traces of use are not remarkable for a 60 years old piece of furniture, and with normal use never really noticeable or detrimental.
Beautiful solid construction and immediately usable.
