Atmospheric impressionistic work featuring a blooming spring garden, in which color, light, and material come together in an expressive manner. In the foreground, a simple fence runs through the landscape, while a house becomes visible in the distance amidst the fresh green and blossoms.
The painter employs a rich, impasto technique, with thick paint textures and vibrant nuances of turquoise, blue-green, pink, and soft yellow. This gives the work an almost dreamlike appearance, somewhere between figuration and abstraction.
Victor Renty worked as a painter, watercolorist, and draftsman and is listed in the Piron Lexicon of Belgian artists. His work evolved from more figurative landscapes to freer, expressive, and sometimes almost abstract compositions.
