Private sellerProduct description
This early Victorian dining set represents the classic British style period under Queen Victoria, dating from between 1840 and 1890. The set consists of a wooden dining table with extension leaves and four matching dining chairs, making it a characteristic example of nineteenth-century furniture craftsmanship. The set is crafted from solid wood—presumably a hardwood comparable to mahogany—with a warm brown finish. The table features turned legs and an ingenious folding system, making the piece both compact and functional. The four chairs have gracefully carved backrests with organic motifs and turned front legs. The seats are upholstered in brown leather, contributing to the authentic appearance of the set. The condition of the set reflects relatively intensive use within our family. The woodwork displays a rich patina and the original finish has been preserved, enhancing its antique character. The leather upholstery on the chairs shows clear signs of age, befitting a piece from this period, and is due for replacement. This antique dining set comes into its own perfectly in a classic or eclectic interior. It offers an authentic piece of British design history that adds warmth and character to a dining room or a spacious eat-in kitchen.
